“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” is based on the Archie Comic. From the executive producers of “Riverdale” comes a haunting new tale. Season 1 of “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” premieres on October 26 on Netflix.
I was such a big fan of “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” when I was younger so I can't wait to see this!
Remakes of movies or TV-series are tricky and especially as a fan of something it's normal to question it, but this remake actually seems promising from what I've seen in trailers so far. This TV-series is based on the comic book series “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” and that comic book series is a darker take on the characters and setting of “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” (that the original TV-series was based on), which is why this TV-series will also be a lot darker. This TV-series will also be based in Greendale, which is Sabrina's hometown in both comic book series, while Sabrina in the original TV-series lived in Westbridge. So it will be fun to see Sabrina in her original hometown from the comic books. Other than that, this TV-series will have the same world but a darker version of it and the same main characters.
The only thing I'm a bit "worried" over is that I've read that Salem, Sabrina's cat, doesn't talk as much in this TV-series as he did in the original Sabrina TV-series (apparently because Kiernan Shipka is allergic to cats, sigh). That's quite sad because Salem was such a big character and part of the original Sabrina TV-series, and my family who knew how much I loved that show even referred to it as "the talking cat" because of Salem. ♥ So I might really miss that about Salem in this TV-series but I hope it won't affect the experience too much.
