#LikeAGirl - Unstoppable.

“Do we limit girls and tell them what they should or shouldn’t be?

Do we box them into expected roles?

Well, we asked, and the answer was shocking: 72% of girls DO feel society limits them – especially during puberty – a time when their confidence totally plummets. Always is on an epic battle to keep girls’ confidence high during puberty and beyond!

Our original #LikeAGirl social experiment started a conversation to boost confidence by changing the meaning of “like a girl” from an insult to a total compliment. And – with your help – that conversation turned into major movement sweeping the entire globe.

We’re on a roll, and we’re not stopping! Now, we’re empowering girls everywhere by encouraging them to smash limitations and be Unstoppable #LikeAGirl. We need your help. Join us. Watch, share and champion all girls to be Unstoppable #LikeAGirl.

For more than three decades, we’ve made it our mission to empower young girls worldwide by educating millions of them about puberty and their cycle, so they can feel confident – any day of the month. Together, we’re making great change happen. Don’t stop!

805 Million Names - Zlatan Ibrahimović.

“On 14 February 2015, Paris Saint-German played against Caen at Parc des Princes. For most players this game was just another day on the job. For Zlatan Ibrahimović this was his most important game to date.

Underneath his sweater he had 50 new names tattooed. Names of people he’d never met, but still wanted to keep close. Names of some of the 805 million people suffering from hunger today

These people don’t often make the front page, yet hunger and malnutrition are the number one risk to health worldwide — greater than AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined.

This is a campaign from the World Food Programme, the world's largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. In emergencies, they get food to where it is needed, saving the lives of victims of war, civil conflict and natural disasters. WFP is part of the United Nations system and is voluntarily funded

On average, WFP reaches more than 80 million people with food assistance in 75 countries each year. About 11,500 people work for the organisation, most of them in remote areas, serving the hungry.

Emma Watson's Speech for HeForShe IMPACT 10x10x10 Program at World Economic Forum 2015.

UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, Emma Watson, delivered another stirring speech encouraging world and corporate leaders to take action for gender equality during the kickoff of a HeForShe program launch at the World Economic Forum at Davos on January 23rd, 2015

Ready to take action? Make your commitment at www.HeForShe.org.

Sign now & help Save the Arctic.

Ask world leaders to create a global sanctuary in the uninhabited area around the North Pole, and a ban on oil drilling and destructive fishing in Arctic waters. SIGN the petition to join the movement of millions who know that the Arctic affects all of us - and must be protected by us all.

The Arctic is home to incredible wildlife, from majestic polar bears to blubbery walruses and mysterious narwhals. But all Arctic species depend on sea ice to survive, and the ice is vanishing with terrifying speed. Without sea ice to hunt, rest, and breed, the very survival of polar bears and other wildlife is under threat. Mother polar bears, weak and starving, have trouble reproducing. Their cubs must fight the odds to survive into adulthood. Unless we take action soon, experts warn that polar bears could disappear completely from the Arctic in the next 100 years. Act now to protect their home.

A new Arctic oil rush has begun. Reckless companies like Shell, Gazprom, Statoil, and Exxon want to invade the fragile Arctic, risking a devastating oil spill for only three years worth of oil. If oil companies are allowed to drill in one of the world's most extreme, isolated, and unpredictable environments, a deadly oil spill is not a question of if - but when. Toxic oil could leak unchecked beneath the ice for years, polluting the lands and livelihoods of people who have called the Arctic home for millennia. An oil spill would have a catastrophic, long-term impact on the entire Arctic ecosystem. Act now to stop an oil spill in the Arctic before it starts.

The Arctic is the world's air conditioner, but amid global climate change it's warming twice as fast as the rest of the world. In the last 30 years 75% of the summer sea ice volume has disappeared. The ice at the top of the world reflects much of the sun’s heat back into space and keeps our whole planet cool, stabilizing the weather systems that we depend on to grow our food. But because of dirty fossil fuel energy, the Arctic could soon be completely ice-free in summer. Icemelt would contribute to rising sea levels, disrupt global weather patterns, and make warming happen faster. This would be devastating not only for the people and animals who live in the region - but for the rest of us too. Protecting the Arctic means protecting us all.

Beyoncé - Flawless ft. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

“We teach girls to shrink themselves
To make themselves smaller
We say to girls,
“You can have ambition
But not too much
You should aim to be successful
But not too successful
Otherwise you will threaten the man.”
Because I am female
I am expected to aspire to marriage
I am expected to make my life choices
Always keeping in mind that
Marriage is the most important
Now marriage can be a source of
Joy and love and mutual support
But why do we teach girls to aspire to marriage
And we don't teach boys the same?
We raise girls to see each other as competitors
Not for jobs or for accomplishments
Which I think can be a good thing
But for the attention of men
We teach girls that they cannot be sexual beings
In the way that boys are
Feminist: the person who believes in the social
Political, and economic equality of the sexes”

Emma Watson's speech at UN about Gender Inequality.

The movement for gender equality was originally conceived as a struggle led only by women for women. In recent years men have begun to stand-up in addressing inequalities and discrimination faced by women and girls. Now it’s time to unify our efforts. HeForShe is a solidarity movement for gender equality that brings together one half of humanity in support of the other of humanity, for the entirety of humanity.

The HeForShe Commitment: Gender equality is not only a women’s issue, it is a human rights issue that requires my participation. I commit to take action against all forms of violence and discrimination faced by women and girls. Join the solidarity movement and spread the word. Share this with the men in your life. All over the world, men are taking a stand for gender equality. See how many men in your country have committed. Join them and move your country into the lead.

Swedish Election to Parliament 2014.

Today, September 14, is the Election day for the Election to Parliament 2014!

If you haven't already voted in advance, go to your polling-station today and vote between 08:00-20:00
You don't have to have your poll-card with you but you must have your ID with you.

Dear Swedish readers, please go and vote, every vote counts.
I don't really care which party you vote for, but I really hope that you all agree with me that any party that supports racism, homophobia and degradation of women (i.e. SD) should not have any place at all in the Swedish parliament.
Therefore it's very important that we all do what we can to prevent it and go and vote.

Dear Swedish readers, please go and vote, every vote counts.

Therefore it's very important that we all do what we can to prevent it and go and vote.

There's no good excuse to not vote, it's just very lazy and selfish. Please take your time to look up which party suits you most and use your vote. If not for yourself, then vote for all the children under 18 years old who can't vote.

Animal Rights Sweden/Djurens Rätt. ♥

Always on the animals’ side” − Djurens Rätt.

Last Tuesday I finally became a annual member of Djurens Rätt! ♥

I'm a true animal lover and I've always supported Djurens Rätt and other good animal rights organizations. ♥
I've always done what I can to help my favorite animal rights organizations; like signing petitions, sharing information online, etc. which is something that everyone can do. But now it was definitely time for me to become a annual member of Djurens Rätt! As a annual member I will pay my membership cost every year and I will be able to make a even bigger difference for animals in need, which I'm very happy about.

You can become a annual member of Djurens Rätt here
annual membership cost 240 kr for adults and 100 kr for people under 25 years old, kids and senior citizens.

You can also become a monthly donor to Djurens Rätt here.
monthly donor choose an amount you want to donate to Djurens Rätt and the amount will be drawn automatically from your bank account every month. The minimum amount is 25 kr per month.

The annual membership cost and/or the minimum monthly donation cost is definitely something that most people can afford and it will help Djurens Rätt to continue their amazing work for all the animals in need.

Djurens Rätt (Animal Rights Sweden), is the largest animal rights organisation in Scandinavia.

Animal Rights Sweden was formed in 1882 with the mission to end painful animal experiments. The organisation is also dealing with other issues than animal experiments, especially concerning farm animals and fur production.

Animal Rights Sweden is an animal rights organisation opposed to all experiments, procedures, production methods and other uses of animals that cause them pain, suffering and distress. Animals are sentient beings who are to be treated with respect, and humans have no morally acceptable reasons to expose animals to suffering.

Animal Rights Sweden is a member of Eurogroup for Animals, the European Coalition to End Animal Experiments and the Fur Free Alliance.

Wait a second,
Why, should you care, what they think of you
When you're all alone, by yourself, do you like you?
Do you like you?

You don't have to try so hard
You don't have to, give it all away
You just have to get up, get up, get up, get up
You don't have to change a single thing

European Elections 2014.

During 22-25 May 2014 it's time for the European elections for the European Union!

“The European elections of 22-25 May 2014 will give voters the chance to influence the future political course of the European Union when they elect the 751 Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) to represent their interests for the next five years.”

“Each member state (country) has its own electoral laws and each one decides on what day its citizens will go to the polls during the four-day election period from 22 to 25 May 2014. The results from all 28 states will be announced on the evening of Sunday 25 May.”

So here in Sweden we can go and vote on Sunday, 25 May. We can also vote in advance so you may already have voted or if you want to vote before Sunday you can just look up where you can go and vote in advance.
