My 2016 Reading Challenge @ Goodreads.
You can see my ratings of the books here if you're curious.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to complete my Reading Challenge in 2016 either. I haven't been able to complete any of my Reading Challenges since 2012 for some reason. I guess I've just been doing other things and therefore haven't done that much reading. But since I've been doing these Reading Challenges for 5 years now I'm not going to stop doing them or stop challenging myself, no matter if I complete them or not.
In 2017 I'm going to try to read 27 books since the number suits the year and that's 2,25 books per month so it should be doable.
How many books do you want to read in 2017?
My past Reading Challenges on Goodreads: 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015.

My 2015 Goodreads challenge.
I've done the Reading Challenge on Goodreads every year since 2012 now but for some reason I haven't managed to complete any of the Reading Challenges since 2012. In 2012 I entered the Reading Challenge some months after the year had started so I had already read some books and completed the challenge that year with 26 books instead of 25 books that was my goal for that year. Since then I've had 26 books as a goal in every Reading Challenge because I know that I can do it since I already did it once but unfortunately I haven't been able to do it again for 3 years. I've probably been procrastinating too much and doing other unnecessary things but I love books and reading so I shouldn't even have a problem with completing a Reading Challenge. Especially not a Reading Challenges with only 26 books when I've seen other people reading that many books in just a month or people reading over 100 books every year. I probably should try to step it up and read more books every year since I have over 900 books on my Goodreads to-read list and it's just increasing every year.
Masquerade (Andalucian Nights, #2) Giveaway by Goodreads.
I've entered giveaways on Goodreads every now and then so far and when I enter their giveaways I obviously enter the giveaways for all the book that I would want to read. I managed to win this book and I'm going to give it a review on Goodreads after I've read it, which is kind of the point of authors and Goodreads giving away books.
If you like to read you should really look up Goodreads by the way, it's a great website to keep track of all the books you've read and all of the books you want to read in the future.
“The Sell” by Fredrik Eklund.
You may know Fredrik Eklund as one of the real estate brokers on the TV-show “Million Dollar Listing New York”.
“life.love.beauty” by Keegan Allen.
In the beginning of this week I got my “life.love.beauty” book by Keegan Allen.
I bought the signed limited edition book from Barnes & Noble so the book is signed by Keegan.
I've already read half of the book and I really like it! The book is filled with Keegan's photographs, thoughts and poetry. You also get to see some photographs of the other “Pretty Little Liars” stars which I really liked since I'm a big fan of the TV-show and the cast.
If you're a fan of Keegan or if you would just like to see some behind the scenes photographs from “Pretty Little Liars” and of the cast, I would definitely recommend this book!
“Keegan Allen is the international breakout star of ABC Family’s hit television series, Pretty Little Liars. A gifted photographer and writer—and a dazzling film, television, and stage actor now counting millions of fans across the globe—Keegan Allen brings tremendous talent and energy to his first publishing project.
Keegan tells a unique story with his photographs. On one hand, the book is a beautifully candid view into the glamour and timelessness of Hollywood, a mysterious yet wildly alluring place. One the other hand, it is a blissfully unassuming portrait of ordinary life - the unknown young woman gazing dreamily from the balcony of her hotel room, or the old woman who walks the same street every morning in her pink bathrobe, just to stop and talk to a passerby.
Through his own stunning photography and captivating prose and poetry, life. love. beauty. chronicles the author’s life growing up just off the Sunset Strip, coming into his own as a young aspiring actor, looking for love and understanding, negotiating the seductions and disappointments of Hollywood, landing a plum role in a hit television series, encountering and embracing his fans, traveling the globe to promote his work, and striving to stay connected to his closest friends and loved ones.”

My 2014 Reading Challenge @ Goodreads.
In my 2012 Reading Challenge I had a goal of 25 books and I read 26 books so I know that I'm able to read more books. In my 2013 Reading Challenge I added one more book to the goal so I had a goal of 26 books but I only read 15 books and in my 2014 Reading Challenge I had the same goal for the second time and I only read 11 books. So for my 2015 Reading Challenge I will have the same goal for the third time and this year I just have to read at least 26 books!
You can find the complete list of the books I read during 2014 and how I rated them here.
679,256 Goodreads users participated in the 2014 Reading Challenge and 15,540 challenges were completed. A total of 19,072,928 books were completed.
“Staying Strong: A Journal”.
I pre-ordered the “Staying Strong: A Journal” a few weeks ago from CDON with the gift-card I got from them on my Birthday last month. The book was released on October 9 and I finally got it on Wednesday.
This is my new and current diary! I had already decided that I wanted this to be my new diary a while before I bought it and luckily it was going to be released in time for when I would finish my previous diary. I thought and hoped that I would get the book the same week as it was released but unfortunately I didn't get it until Wednesday even though it was released on last Thursday, so I've been without a diary longer than I expected I would be and I haven't felt good about it. I haven't always written regularly in my diary during my life so far but even when I didn't write regularly in it I've always had a current diary that I can write in if I want to, so it was probably because I knew that right now I didn't have a diary to write in if I wanted to that made me feel a bit bad.
Last year I decided that I was going to write in my diary at least every Sunday and I've been doing that and I've only missed a few Sunday's since then. So my previous diary only lasted for 11 months and earlier during my life I've had the same diary for some years since I didn't write regularly in it, so compared to that I think I'm really good at writing in my diary now. I own over 10 finished diaries which may sound like a lot to some people but I wish I had written regularly in my diary ever since I was younger because then I would have many more than that now. But at least I've realized that and I'm writing regularly in my diary now so I'll hopefully have plenty of diaries when I'm old.
I really recommend everyone to get a diary and write in it regularly. When you're old you'll hopefully have many diaries to read and look through and remember all the things that happened in your life. I think it's really good to take a lot of photos during your life that you can always look back on and remember all the wonderful memories, but a diary is also a really great way to remember everything that have happened in your life because your diary is only meant for you so you can write down exactly everything that happens, everything that you think and feel. That's one of the things that I like about writing in my diary, I can write down whatever I want and exactly what I think and feel, and if I want to read my old diaries in the future I can read exactly what happened and exactly what I thought and felt at that moment.
“Scandinavian Retro” Classic Nr 2: Tove Jansson.
I've never seen the “Scandinavian Retro” magazine in stores before but when I saw Moomin on the frontpage it immidiately grabbed my attention since I'm obviously a Moomin fan. This is “Scandinavian Retro” magazine's second special number and it's all about Tove Jansson and Moomin. The magazine have 132 pages and the quality is very good, it's more like a catalogue than a magazine so this is definitely a magazine that I'll keep forever.
The magazine also gave me a 20% discount on Moomin mugs from the Cervera store, so I may buy some new Moomin mugs to my collection. I think I have 7 Moomin mugs in my collection so far if I remember correctly.
10 first “Pretty Little Liars” books.
The 10 first books that I got from the book series is called “Pretty Little Liars”, “Flawless”, “Perfect”, “Unbelievable”, “Wicked”, “Killer”, “Heartless”, “Wanted”, “Twisted” and “Ruthless”.
I'm a big fan of the “Pretty Little Liars” TV-series and I'm following a Swedish blog, pprettylittleliars.blogg.se, about the TV-series and some week ago they published a blog-post where another reader of the blog wanted to sell the first 8 “Pretty Little Liars” books. She wanted to sell every book for only 10 kr, which is really cheap, so I obviously contacted her right away and told her that I wanted to buy them. She told me that she also had book 9 and 10, so I got the 10 first books from the “Pretty Little Liars” book series for only 175 kr inluding shipping! If I would have bought the books online on my own I would only have been able to get 2-3 books for that price, so it was definitely a very good deal.
I'm obviously up to date with the “Pretty Little Liars” TV-series and I'm waiting for the Christmas episode that they're going to air some time in December this year. I already know that the biggest difference between the TV-series and the book series, which everyone should know, is that Alison doesn't have a twin in the TV-series which she have in the books. But I thought that it would be fun to read the books to find out what else is different between the TV-series and the books.
I've already started to read the first book “Pretty Little Liars” and I've already found some other differences, which is the girls looks: in the books Aria have black hair, Spencer have blonde hair, Emily have red blonde hair and is Irish and Hanna have brown hair. So the only girl who have the same looks as in the books is Aria, since she have dark hair in the TV-series as well. But Spencer, Emily and Hanna all have a different hair color in the TV-series and Emily even have a different ethnicity. So I've already find some other differences and it will be interesting to find more.
140630 - 5 new books from the Summer SALE.
This is the books that I found on CDON's Summer SALE!
I've already read “Divergent” which is the first book in the “Divergent” trilogy and it was really good so of course I want to read the two last books “Insurgent” and “Allegiant” so that's why I bought the box set of the trilogy!
I actually already have a copy of the first book but it was cheaper to buy the box set than it would have been to only buy the two last books. With the box set you also got “The World of Veronica Roth's Divergent” which is a 48-page booklet that includes an author Q&A, playlists, quizzes, etc. I've already read what's in the booklet since the same information is also in the “Divergent” copy that I already own but I'd rather have the booklet on it's own than having it directly after the story in the “Divergent” book. I'm going to give my older “Divergent” copy away since I don't need two copies of the same book, and the books in the box set was in the same design and the “Divergent” book I already own is in a different design so it only makes sense to give it away.
“The Selection” have been on my to-read list for a while now so when I saw it on CDON I decided to get it.
“The Elite” is the second book in the trilogy and you could get 2 pocket books for 99 kr so I got that one as well.
140626 - Shopping, dream books & bucket-lists.
At Thursday me and my Mom took our bicycles and went off to look in a few stores.
After we had looked in a few stores I went to my friend Johanna's work place and waited for her to finish her work day, and then we went home to her place and hung out. We talked and ate dinner together and made plans for what we're going to do the next time we'll see each other. ♥
We're going to make our own dream books, or that's what I like to call them anyway. It's something that I've been wanting to do and planning to do for months now so I really look forward to finally make my dream book, and when I told Johanna about it she got as excited as me and also wanted to do it. So what we're going to do is to find a perfect book for ourselves that we'll then fill with our own bucket-lists! A bucket-list is a list of everything that you want to do in your life. So we'll make our own dream books with text and pictures of everything that we want to do, explore and experience in our lives. And every time we've done something in our book, we'll cross that we've done that and during our lifetime we'll be able to look through our dream books and see what dreams, plans and wishes we've actually accomplished from our bucket-lists.
I think everyone should make their own bucket-list. You don't have to make it into a whole project like we'll be doing but we'll only do that because we like crafts and these kind of things. You can just make a bucket-list as a simple list on a piece of paper/s and save it somewhere and there you have your bucket-list! I think it would be as fun for everyone to see what you've actually accomplished during your life and I think a bucket-list is the perfect way to do that. Otherwise I think it's easy to just continue living your life and not really think about what you want to accomplish and if you don't think about it you won't realize when you do accomplish something or how much you've accomplished. So I'd definitely advice you all to make some sort of bucket-list!
My 2013 Reading Challenge @ Goodreads.
Last year I completed my 2012 Reading Challenge goal of 25 books (I read 26 books last year) so I know I'm able to read way more books than what I've read this year. I can't say that I've been that busy this year either so I really don't have any explanation for why I didn't met my goal of 26 books this year when I read that many books last year when I was more busy since I was still studying. But at least I have read 14 books this year!
Since I didn't complete my 2013 Reading Challenge this year I will set the same goal of 26 books for my 2014 Reading Challenge.
You can read my 2012 Reading Challenge blog-post here.
130925 - Book.
Today I got the first book “Vampire Academy” from the book series with the same name, written by Richelle Mead.
I've known about the book series for some years now since the books are popular and the book genres are also some of my favorites, so the books have been on my to-read list for a while now. And now I've finally bought the first book in the series since I want to read it before the movie based on the first book premieres in 2014.
Warner Bros. announces expanded creative partnership with “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling!
“We are incredibly honored that Jo has chosen to partner with Warner Bros. on this exciting new exploration of the world of wizardry which has been tremendously successful across all of our businesses,” said Tsujihara. “She is an extraordinary writer, who ignited a reading revolution around the world, which then became an unprecedented film phenomenon. We know that audiences will be as excited as we are to see what her brilliant and boundless imagination conjures up for us.”
In addition to the film series, “Fantastic Beasts” will also be developed across the Studio’s video game, consumer products and digital initiatives businesses, including enhanced links with Pottermore.com, Rowling’s digital online experience built around the Harry Potter stories.
The Studio’s expanded partnership with Rowling also covers the continued expansion of its Harry Potter activities, including the wonderful Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme parks in conjunction with partner Universal Parks and Resorts (currently in Orlando, FL; opening in Hollywood, CA and Osaka, Japan), digital initiatives (including Pottermore), video games, consumer products and visitor attractions.
In addition, Warner Bros. will serve as the worldwide TV distributor (excluding the U.K.) of J.K. Rowling’s upcoming television adaptation for the BBC of “The Casual Vacancy,” her best-selling first novel aimed at adult audiences. This miniseries begins production in 2014.
UPDATE FROM J.K. ROWLING'S FACEBOOK PAGE:
“It all started when Warner Bros. came to me with the suggestion of turning “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” into a film. I thought it was a fun idea, but the idea of seeing Newt Scamander, the supposed author of “Fantastic Beasts”, realized by another writer was difficult. Having lived for so long in my fictional universe, I feel very protective of it and I already knew a lot about Newt. As hard-core Harry Potter fans will know, I liked him so much that I even married his grandson, Rolf, to one of my favourite characters from the Harry Potter series, Luna Lovegood.
As I considered Warners’ proposal, an idea took shape that I couldn’t dislodge. That is how I ended up pitching my own idea for a film to Warner Bros.
Although it will be set in the worldwide community of witches and wizards where I was so happy for seventeen years, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series, but an extension of the wizarding world. The laws and customs of the hidden magical society will be familiar to anyone who has read the Harry Potter books or seen the films, but Newt’s story will start in New York, seventy years before Harry’s gets underway.
I particularly want to thank Kevin Tsujihara of Warner Bros. for his support in this project, which would not have happened without him. I always said that I would only revisit the wizarding world if I had an idea that I was really excited about and this is it.”
130902 - Books.
Today I got my package with the first two books from the book series “The Mortal Instruments” by Cassandra Clare.
I ordered the books after I had seen the movie “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones”. I really liked the movie and the story so of course I want to read the books as well, so I'm starting with the two first books in the book series.
Hopefully they will start filming the second movie “The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes” as soon as possible so it hopefully can be released in a year or two. I have plenty of time to read the second book before the second movie will premiere. I will probably order the rest of the books from the series after I've read the first two books if they're as good as I expect them to be.
If you haven't watched “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” yet I definitely recommend it to you!
