J.K. Rowling plans 40ft high treehouse for her children.
❝When the creator of Harry Potter decides to build an adventure playground for her children, you expect something magical.
But even by JK Rowling’s standards the 40ft high, two-storey tree houses planned for the back garden of her Edinburgh mansion are something spectacular. The Hogwarts-style towers - estimated to cost around £150,000 - are so big that they need planning permission.
Each wooden tree house is to be built on stilts and boasts balconies, carvings and turrets that wouldn’t look out of place in a Potter adventure. The towers are linked by a rope bridge and can be approached by a secret tunnel hidden underneath a raised wooden walkway.
Plans lodged with the City of Edinburgh Council reveal the houses are intended for Miss Rowling’s two youngest children David, nine, and his sister Mackenzie, seven.
According to the drawings ‘David’s Tree House’ is closest to the secret tunnel and has a specially designed trap door and fireman’s pole escape into the garden. Meanwhile ‘Kenzie’s Tree House’ has its own spiral staircase and a stainless steel playground slide leading to a double set of swings.
A wooden walkway connected to the giant structure leads to a giant trampoline deck that is shielded from public view by a row of extra tall conifers. The design by the luxury tree house makers Blue Forest UK features cedar shingle roofs and a built in ‘nature box’ for birds to nest in. JK Rowling’s tree houses will only be built with timber from sustainably managed forests.
Miss Rowling, 47, bought her 17th century mansion for more than £2 million in 2009 when she reportedly fell in love with it after viewing just two of its 31 rooms. She lives there with her husband Dr Neil Murray, their two young children and her 18-year-old daughter Jessica, from her first marriage.
The property has been dubbed ‘Fortress Rowling’ by some because of its security fences and reinforced doors. Giant trees were lifted by crane over the garden walls to give the author and her family more privacy.
Last year JK Rowling got planning permission to flatten a £1 million 1970s style house next door to make her garden larger. She also got approval to build a summer house that critics said looked like the stone hut inhabited by Hagrid, the giant groundsman from her best-selling novels.
Yesterday a neighbour said: “Nobody around here is going to make a fuss about the tree houses for her children. It’s her cash she can do what she wants with it.”
“Miss Rowling has spent a lot of money on trees surrounding her property so even if these tree houses are huge nobody but her is going to see them. In any case she’s extremely nice and well-liked around here.”
A source at Edinburgh Council said: “It would be highly unlikely that JK Rowling will not get permission for these tree houses.”
“They are only for her children to play in, she’s not seeking permission for residential permission for them.”
JK Rowling is worth around £560 million according to the 2012 Sunday Times Rich List.
She is reported to have given away more than £100 million to charity.
Blue Forest, based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, describes itself as the UK’s leading tree house architects. It specialises in creating ‘fantasy castles’ like those for JK Rowling’s children or ‘James Bond-style hideaways’ with luxuries such as under floor heating, wood burning stoves and plasma screen televisions. Prices start at £20,000 for its most basic models, but the firm admits the ‘sky is the limit’ for the final bill when it creates bespoke tree houses for the super-rich.
The firm’s managing director Andy Payne said: “Tree houses have always been a symbol of imagination and creativity.”
Tree houses are generally considered temporary structures and therefore do not need planning permission. However this only applies if they are less than 13 feet high from roof to base.
Last night a spokesman for JK Rowling said she would not be commenting on the tree houses. She said: “It is a private matter.”
Branching out: A computer simulation of the twin tree houses to be built in JK Rowling's garden, taken from the Edinburgh City Council website.
Extravagant; The towers are linked by a rope bridge and can be approached by a secret tunnel hidden underneath a raised wooden walkway.
Children's dream: Each wooden tree house is to be built on stilts and boasts balconies, carvings and turrets that wouldn't look out of place in a Potter adventure.
Eco conscience: JK Rowling's tree houses will only be built with timber from sustainably managed forests.
Intricate design: Drawings on Edinburgh Council website for a proposed tree house in the grounds of JK Rowling's Scottish home.
Bespoke fun: Plans reveal the houses are intended for Miss Rowling's two youngest children David, nine, and his sister Mackenzie, seven.❞
How cool is this?!
If I ever have my own house and a big garden (and the money for it) I would definitely want to build something like this! Who doesn't want a Hogwarts-styled treehouse?! I sure do!
Rupert Grint runs with Olympic Torch - Photos.
❝Rupert Grint lets the flames fly as he carries the Olympic Torch at Middlesex University London on Wednesday (July 25).
“I don’t usually run for anything, but it was all downhill so I was OK,” the 23-year-old Harry Potter star told The AP. “It was all a bit of a blur. I’m just so proud to be a part of it.”
The 23-year-old actor opened up to MTV about the honor.
“It’s really exciting. I’ve always been a big fan of the Olympics and [have] always [wanted] to get involved with it,” Rupert shared.
He added, “It’s a really historical kind of event, and I don’t think in my lifetime there’ll be another Olympics in London, so yeah, I feel really honored to be part of it.”❞

I wrote a blog-post about this on Thursday July 19 which you can read here.
And today on July 25 is the day when Rupert Grint will carry the Olympic Torch!
As you can see in the information above, Rupert will carry the Olympic Torch from 1.47pm!
1.47pm means 1.47pm in UK time so look up what the time in your country is at that time so you don't miss it. Sweden is 1 hour before UK time so 1.47pm is 2.47pm (14:47) in Swedish time. Since I've time-shifted this blog-post, it's exactly 2 hours & 47 minutes left right now until Rupert will carry the Olympic Torch.
You will be able to see Rupert carry the Olympic Torch live here.
❝The Secret Circle❞ - Season 1 Bloopers.
It sucks that “The Secret Circle” got canceled after season 1!
I obviously followed the TV-series and it quickly became one of my favorite TV-series so it really sucks that it got canceled. I think every episode of TSC was both good and exciting so I don't understand why they didn't cancel some other boring TV-series instead of TSC. TSC was also The CW's third highest rated performer and highest rated freshman series of the season so that makes it suck even more that TSC got canceled, since TSC clearly was a popular TV-series.
Fortunately I'm behind with the episodes and I haven't watched any TSC episodes since it were announced that the TV-series had been canceled, so I've kind of “saved” the episodes. I'm so far on episode 15 so I have 8 episodes left to watch of TSC before the TV-series is over for me.

My new Hello Kitty bracelet. ♥
She bought it to me as a souvenir when she were on her honeymoon in Spain!
She knows me so well! She knows that I love Hello Kitty and also that blue is my favorite color, so it was really sweet of her to remember that and think of me when she saw this bracelet and buy it for me!
Thank you so much, Johanna! ♥
The Hello Kitty is obviously more sparkly IRL and you can see the Hello Kitty face clearly, but it didn't turn out so good in the photo and I'm too lazy to take a better lighter photo.

Ed Sheeran: Lego House - starring Rupert Grint.
I just found out that Rupert Grint is starring in Ed Sheeran's song “Lego House” and here's the musicvideo!
Shame on me that I didn't know it before now, but now I've seen the musicvideo and the song's good too.
This means that both Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson have been starring in a musicvideo. You can see Daniel starring in the musicvideo for Slow Club's song “Beginners” here and Emma starring in the musicvideo for One Night Only's song “Say You Don't Want It” here.
“Finding Nemo” sequel confirmed!
❝Just keep swimming, just keep swimming…
A sequel to the beloved Disney/Pixar film “Finding Nemo” is in the works with the original’s director Andrew Stanton set to return for another feature, according to Deadline.❞
So Disney/Pixar will release a “Finding Nemo 2”!
To be honest I don't know what I think about this. I feel that “Finding Nemo” was one finished story and one movie was enough to tell the story. “Finding Nemo” was also such a good and funny movie so they'll have a lot to live up to when they make the sequel. But I guess that I do look forward to a sequel now that I know that they'll make one. Who wouldn't want to see the hilarious Doris again?
The sequel doesn't have a release date yet since they just announced it, but the movie is already up on IMDB so the release date will probably be updated there as soon as they know the release date.
What do you think about this?
Which Hogwarts house did the sorting hat put me in?
But I realized just now that I never made a blog-post here in my blog after the website had opened, which means that I never told you which house I got sorted in! If you know me IRL you probably know which house I belong in because I probably told you but otherwise I haven't written anything about it here on my blog.
I've never thought that I belong in a specific house which is good because then I couldn't get disappointed if I didn't get sorted into that specific house. But of course I would have liked to get sorted into Gryffindor or Slytherin since they're the 2 houses that's shown the most in the movies so it feels like everyone know more about those 2 houses than the other 2 houses and I also think that there's more Gryffindor or Slytherin merchandise available than there is with Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw. And of course I want to get merchandise with/from the house I now know that I belong in if I buy any merchandise in the future, which I most likely will.
Anyways... Do you want to know which house I belong in?
1... 2... 3...
I GOT SORTED INTO HUFFLEPUFF!
I'm very happy that I belong in Hufflepuff, because when I got sorted (and everyone else) you get a welcome-letter and you get to know everything about the house you got sorted in. And almost everything that describes Hufflepuff also describes me, so I really feel that Hufflepuff was and is the right house for me. I've also read a lot about Hufflepuff after I got sorted and it just makes me feel more and more that I got sorted into the right house. So like I said I'm really happy that I belong in Hufflepuff!
The only “bad” thing about Hufflepuff is that our colors are yellow & black and I don't really like the color yellow. But after I got sorted into Hufflepuff I'm forcing myself to like it since it's my house color and I feel that I have to like both colors of the house, haha. And the funny thing is that I actually like yellow more now after I got sorted into Hufflepuff, probably because it is a color of the house and therefore I've “accepted” it and started to like it more than I did before at least.
Anyway, now you know which Hogwarts house I belong in; Hufflepuff!
I'd love to know which Hogwarts house you belong in if you have a Pottermore account!
If you don't have a Pottermore account, you can go and make one and come back here later and tell me which house you got sorted in because I think it's fun to know which house people get sorted in.

120701 - Congratulations, Spain!
Spain became the first team to win 2 consecutive European Championships, and the first European international team to win 3 straight major tournament titles (UEFA Euro 2008, 2010 FIFA World Cup).
I'm actually a bit Italian so I apologize to my Italian roots for cheering on Spain, but I cheered for them in the FIFA World Cup and I decided to cheer for them now again in the UEFA Euro when Sweden lost. It wasn't a total loss for Italy tonight though, because since Spain already have gained entry to the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup by winning the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Italy qualified.
Once again; CONGRATULATIONS SPAIN! Viva España!
Johanna & Max' wedding! ♥
Since we were very early we just sat down in the church and talked and waited for more people to arrive and of course for the wedding to begin. The wedding was scheduled to start at 2pm (14:00).
When everyone were there and they closed the doors in the church I knew that the wedding was about to start! And the wedding started only some minutes after they'd close the doors to the church.
The moment when the doors opened and Johanna & Max walked down the aisle I was so close to start crying because Johanna was so beautiful! I'm not even kidding, I had to bite my own teeth to keep myself from crying! And I had to keep biting my teeth the entire wedding to keep myself from crying. That's how beautiful the wedding was!
When they were declared husband & wife and the wedding was over, they walked down the aisle again. And after that everyone else walked out of the church to wait for them to come back. And then we all blew soap-bubbles over them! Actually I forgot to blow soap-bubbles over them because I was busy with staring at them and taking photos of them but I'm sure they forgive me for that.
When we'd finished blowing soap-bubbles over them, we all said our congratulations to them before they walked up on their horse-carriage! Johanna already looked like a princess and the horse-carriage made their wedding to look even more like it came right from a fairytale!
When the horse-carriage had started to drive Johanna & Max away from the church and off to the castle (yes, castle, did I say fairytale wedding?!) everyone else walked to the cars to also drive to the castle. Johanna's grand-mom & grand-dad was so nice to let me & Angelica go with them so I didn't have to call my Dad to drive us.
Everyone arrived at the castle before Johanna & Max because obviously cars are faster than a horse-carriage. So we all were already at the castle waiting for them when they arrived. When they did arrive we walked down to the water to take photos of the newlyweds. And after that we walked up to the castle again to take photos of them outside of the castle, and after that we walked into the castle to start the celebration.
At first Johanna & Max were supposed to cut off a red tape on the door before we all walked in but no one had put up the tape so they couldn't cut it off. I don't know if that was planned or not but it gave us all a good laugh!
When everyone had found their seat, we were served sandwich-cake.
After that we got to see when Johanna & Max played a game. They were asked questions and then they were supposed to take up each other's shoe for the person who were the correct answer to the question.
They also had a quiz with 10 questions about them that we all got to answer and then they gave us the correct answers to the questions.
After that we were served 2 different wedding-cakes.
And when we'd finished Johanna & Max opened their wedding presents!
After that the celebration was over and everyone started to leave. Johanna's grand-mom & grand-dad was nice again to give me & Angelica a ride home from the wedding so I didn't have to call my Dad to come pick us up.
When we had written in their guest-book and said goodbye to Johanna & Max we left the wedding with Johanna's grand-mom, grand-dad & her sister and they were nice enough to drive us all the way home, but they live very close to where my Dad lives so luckily there wasn't a detour for them.
Like I've already written in the top of this blog-post, their wedding was so beautiful!
I'm so thankful and happy that they invited me to be a part of it because I wouldn't have wanted to miss it for anything in the world! It's a big thing to get married but it's also a big thing to get to see 1 of your best friends get married, so that's why I'm so happy that I got to be there to see it! It's definitely something that I always will remember and of course they will too.
I'm ending this blog-post with once again wishing both Johanna & Max a life filled with love & happiness!
