❝Another way to live❞

I just watched a TV program called “Another Way To Live” on SVT2 with my Mom

It was a British documentary series from 2008. It was about a “33-year old single woman named Dionne who had given up her dream about finding her life partner and now lived with her mother in London. But under the month she's living with the Masai people in Africa where polygamy and female circumcision is normal, Dionne makes a radical and life-changing decision.

I really don't understand how they can think that female circumcision is normal when it's actually really sick. Female circumcision is something you can die from if you're forced to go through it, and there are many facilities especially for Women who've been the victims of that. I don't understand how they can do that. They also believed that you can't have any kids if you're not circumcised, it's sad how little they know.

Documentaries and programs like this are interesting to watch, just because you get to know how it's like in other parts of the world. But it definitely makes me wish that everyone in the world could inform themselves better. All human rights should be respected for everyone no matter what and no matter where you live. It's definitely interesting and fun with different cultures in the world and different ways to live, but they should never work against respecting the basic human rights of people.
